IPU New Zealand Toastmasters

Toastmasters is a great way to help you to improve your speaking and leadership abilities in a small group .You will be mentored and supported by the other members as you work through the Toastmasters Pathways Program.

Our members join for different reasons but they all want to become more confident and competent when speaking to others. We can help you to do that at the pace that suits you.

We are based at IPU in Palmerston North and we have members from all over the world. Our members include IPU students and local residents.

Toastmasters holds regular competitions, conferences and leadership training to develop your skills and meet other people with common interests.

If you would like to learn more about us, contact us by email so we can answer your questions and send you an invitation to our next meeting.

You are welcome to attend a few meetings before you join to make sure we are the right fit for you.

How to Join

Come along to our meetings and when you are ready we can provide you with the application form. Once you have signed up and paid, our mentor will help you to set up your Toastmasters account and show you how to use the Pathways program.

Membership Fees

There is a one-off joining fee of $35 and a six-monthly levy of $100 to cover the costs of the Pathways Program. These fees are subject to exchange rates with the US$.

When and where we meet

We meet on Thursday evenings from 7.15 to 8.15. Currently we meet on zoom fortnightly and we meet in the Senior Common room at IPU on the weeks in-between. We plan to have hybrid meetings which will mean you can join us on zoom if you are unable to attend in person.
